17 August 2006 - Foosy Site Goes Deep
The Craven Pothole Club was one of the first Fooshy sites to be developed, incorporating many features and functions that we now offer.
The Craven Pothole Club, based in the Yorkshire Dales, is one of the oldest caving clubs in the UK. Each August it sets up a winch to lower visitors down the 340' deep cavern known as Gaping Gill, on the flanks of Ingleborough, one of Yorkshire's 'Three Peaks'.
Since the web site was launched in July 2004, ever increasing numbers of visitors have been drawn to the event, many of whom report that they learnt of it through the internet.
As a result of targetted Search Engine Optimisation, the site is currently receiving around 600 visitors per week in the period running up the event, which isn't bad advertising for a club of 300 members!
